I initially created Scout Hub in 2021, collaborating with Crystal Palace Football Club to create a scouting system that would be both customisable for them and could be turned into a scalable SaaS platform for other clubs to use. The initial MVP was built solo, and subsequently I grew a small team to build out the app into a robust enterprise-grade platform.

The design involved close collaboration with scouts, initially designing prototypes then quickly getting them into the real platform. Since then the platform has evolved over time based on a massive amount of user feedback and feature requests from a variety of clubs and scouts, often with slightly different customisations and workflows. As such the platform evolved to be easily configurable and customisable - with many of the features and templates defined by quickly editable JSON files.

The platform is built on a robust backend infrastructure, with a focus on scalability and performance - comfortably able to handle tens of millions of data points and sharded with each club having their own instance. A powerful data scraping service underpins much of the platform data, constantly capturing player and match data from a variety of sources and feeding into the platform. The web app itself is a responsive React application, working seamlessly across mobile and desktop.

Today I still maintain the platform, and it's used by a range of clubs throughout the world, including teams in the Premier League, Championship, Serie A and MLS.
